It's not as tough as it seems, really! The key to success in Rise of Kingdoms is finding the right balance between research and upgrades.
To unlock the first 3 columns of the Economic Technology tree, simply visit villages on the map in the early stages of the game!
To get our economy rolling, we need to invest in some key technologies:
Masonry: This tech boosts construction speed by 15% at max level. Speeding up building and structure development, investing in masonry early on is a smart move if possible.

Writing: Increasing research speed at the Academy by up to 10%, this tech is a game-changer. It cuts down hours and minutes from both Military and Economic research, making it a top priority.
Engineering: With this research, construction speed gets a 35% boost. Combine it with Masonry for a total reduction of 50% in construction time. That's cutting the time in half for any building. A must-have for speeding up development!
Mathematics: If you invest in Mathematics, you'll boost your Academy's research speed by 15%! This is a key tech in the economic branch. By maxing out these technologies, you'll save time on research and construction, getting you closer to those coveted Golden units.

Military Technologies
In order to progress in our military endeavours, we need to focus on advancing our Tier 3 and Tier 4 units.
Tier 3 Units
At Tier 3, all civilizations have access to the same units. This is a great opportunity for us to experiment with different types of units such as Archers, Cavalry, and Infantry. By doing so, we can determine which units align best with our strategic goals and the commanders we prioritize.
Tier 4 Units
When we reach City Hall 21, we will have the chance to develop a special unit for our civilization - whether it be Archer, Cavalry, or Infantry. This unit will become our Leader unit, requiring our utmost attention in terms of commanders and military technologies.
Once we have advanced to Tier 4, we will embark on a lengthy technological journey to eventually reach Tier 5. Let's continue to push forward and strengthen our military capabilities!

Exploring Combat Tactics, Defensive Formations, and Herbal Medicine
Once we've looked into all our T4 technologies, the next step is to focus on developing 3 key technologies that will be crucial for our T5 research. Each of these technologies will take varying amounts of time to investigate, depending on the level we are aiming for. They are incredibly important for advancing our progress.
We'll need to prioritize developing Cartography in order to unlock important military technologies like "Medical Corps", "Encampment", and "Combined Arms". This will significantly shorten the path to reaching T5.
But it won't be a walk in the park! We'll first need to raise our Castle Hall to Level 25, and then work on upgrading our Castle to the same level. This will require gathering plenty of "Books of Covenant", which can either be acquired by destroying Forts or purchasing them with Gems. Once these constructions are complete, we can finally focus on upgrading our Academy to Level 25.
Our Economic team needs to be on top of things to research our Golden units. It may be a bit time-consuming, but it's necessary for the game. Also, we have to be patient when developing our final Military units as they require thorough research that can take days or even months. Let's stay focused on our main unit and make it our top priority for combat. Just remember to dedicate all your attention to one unit at a time.
